CebuBikers Back to school Treat for Gawad Kalinga Village Kids
By: Snake Eye

It seems impossible nowadays for the CebuBikers Community to gather for an event. Some lost their desire and/or interest but not the fire that is still burning inside our hearts. June 6, 2010 event has proven it again. We organized another outreach program for the kids in our adopted GK Village in Toledo City, Cebu. We gave out school supplies for them to use this school year. As one of the member of the community said, “The children might not be able to express in words how exactly they felt of what we’ve done, but the expression of their faces really shows how thankful they are of the things we have given them last Sunday…” He was right. Though I was not there personally, but the expressions and the stories from other members who were there says it all.
Again, if you can only see the smiles and the expression of the children in that GK Village, you can fill that we have done it again. We contributed and shared our blessings to that community.
And as I end this article, let me leave you something to ponder:
“You give little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.

Thank you for those who came with us and shared their precious time. Thank you for those who contributed. And for the others, thank you for your support. There will always be a next time.

CB Strikes Again!

For the second time this year, Cebubikers Online Community has proved, once again, the real meaning of giving. It’s not because it’s the holiday season but because we are committed to help, not only ourselves but the community where we live in, as well.
Last Dec. 13, 2009, the rain poured at around 4am in the morning. Many texted me if the CB-GK outreach will push thru. I all told them, yes, rain or shine. No matter what happens, we will not let the GK village kids down.
To make the long story short, we gathered in tambayan. Waiting also for the other members to arrive since it was raining. I, for one, was late for an hour and I do apologize for that. But the long wait and the rain didn’t stop the 29 riders (backpacks not included in the headcount) to accomplish what were planning to do. And surely, the children of the GK village weren’t disappointed. We were not disappointed as well but we left the place with a big smile and a big heart. As the song goes, I gotta feeling. That today’s gonna be a good day…that today is gonna be a good good day…
We will not stop here. We will continue to make a difference among ourselves, bike clubs and the Online Community. We are not doing this out of fame and or exposure for the community. We are doing this because we love doing it.
Happy Holidays everybody and may God bless us all!
